Meeting a Real Character (Weekend Assignment #313)

Never ask me to pick my single favorite anything - when it comes to things like that, I have serious commitment issues. Karen's Weekend Assignment question is along those lines:

Weekend Assignment #313: Through some miracle of colliding realities, you have the opportunity to meet a fictional character, face to face. Which character would you most like to meet, and why?

Extra Credit: What question would you most like to ask that character? Extra extra credit for posting the character's likely reply!

How can I possibly narrow it down? While there are any number of characters I might like to meet - as well as their creators, many of whom are characters themselves - I'm not sure there is one I would most like to meet.

Looking for inspiration, or at least a nudge in one direction or another, I threw the question out to Twitter and Google Buzz. (I should have asked on Facebook, too, but I tend to forget I have an account there.) I've included screenshots of the responses. Atticus Finch and Dumbledore each got two votes, but there was no consensus otherwise.

How many people can travel in a Tardis, anyway?

Since I also recently re-read The Sparrow, I can endorse Heather (@BookAddictHeath)'s pick of Dr. Anne Edwards - she was my favorite character in a novel filled with memorable ones. But I've decided I'd like to meet a character from TV, not books. I've found that over several years of viewing, TV characters can make a place for themselves that characters in other media don't quite achieve (although if I read more series, I might see this happen more often with literary characters too).

Like me, she was a very young mother who in many ways grew up along with her child...and in other ways, deferred some of her own growth until her child was ready to fly from the nest (also like me). Unlike me, she did it mostly on her own, with a determination and resourcefulness I don't think I have now, let alone when I was barely out of my teens. I'd like to meet Lorelai Gilmore for a chat over a big cup of coffee...but somewhere other than at Luke's Diner, so we won't be interrupted by Stars Hollow's more colorful townfolk. I'm not sure what I'd ask her, but I suspect her answer would be fast, wordy, and loaded with pop-culture references. Sigh - I still miss Gilmore Girls.
