Readathon Update #3: Mid-Event Meme

Posted on 16:29 by Guy
I missed the opening meme of Readathon, but I thought I'd take a break from my book for the traditional Mid-Event Meme.

Mid-Event Survey:
1. What are you reading right now?
Carney's House Party, by Maud Hart Lovelace

2. How many books have you read so far?
This is my second. I spent an hour and a half cheerleading in between books.

3. What book are you most looking forward to for the second half of the Read-a-thon?
Not sure. I think my next one may be non-fiction, though...
4. Did you have to make any special arrangements to free up your whole day?
Yes. I took a vacation day from work yesterday to do my usual Saturday errands and chores.

5. Have you had many interruptions? How did you deal with those?
Not really. I waited till I finished my first book to shower and get dressed, and I'm not counting my cheerleading and Twitter check-ins as interruptions :-).

6. What surprises you most about the Read-a-thon, so far?
That I haven't given in and taken a nap yet! :-D

7. Do you have any suggestions for how to improve the Read-a-thon next year?
Adjust the start time so I'm not getting up at 5 AM on a Saturday? (Kidding! Sort of.)

8. What would you do differently, as a Reader or a Cheerleader, if you were to do this again next year?
I might not do Cheerleading next time; I'd trade it for doing more of the mini-challenges.

9. Are you getting tired yet?
I was an hour or so ago. I've gotten a bit of of a second wind now.

10. Do you have any tips for other Readers or Cheerleaders, something you think is working well for you that others may not have discovered?
Can't think of anything unique - I'm taking brief breaks, not eating anything heavy, and sticking with fairly short books. It all seems to be working pretty well so far!
